SURFING DATA

The IT systems and software procedures arranged to operate this site acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data, the transmission of which is implicit in the use of the internet communication protocols.

This concerns information, which is not collected to be associated with identifiable data subjects, but which by its nature could allow the users to be identified by means of processing and association with data held by third parties.

The IP addresses or domain names of the computers and terminals used by the users, the addresses in URI/URL (Uniform Resource Identifier/Locator) notation of the requested resources, the time of the request, the method used in submitting the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in reply, the numerical code indicating the status of the reply given by the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters regarding the operating system and IT environment of the user fall into this category of data.

These data, necessary to use the web services, are also processed for the purpose of:

  • obtaining statistical information on the use of the services [most visited pages, number of visitors per time or day band, geographical areas of origin, etc.];
  • checking that the services offered are operating correctly.

The surfing data do not last for more than seven days and are immediately deleted after their aggregation (unless there is a need for them to be checked by the legal authorities).

LEGAL BASIS FOR THE PROCESSING

The personal data indicated on this page are processed by Vernazza Autogru Srl on the basis of the legitimate interest of the Data Controller with reference to the purposes indicated above and by virtue of its requests based on a pre-contractual / contractual obligation of law.

COOKIES

– Definition, characteristics and application of the regulations

Cookies are small text files which the sites visited by user send and record on its computer or mobile device, to then be re-transmitted to the same sites at the next visit. It is through cookies that a site remembers the user’s actions and preferences (e.g. login data, chosen language, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be indicated again when the user returns to visit that site or surfs from one page to another in it. Cookies, therefore, are used to execute IT authentication, monitor sessions and store any information regarding the activities of users who access a site and can also contain a unique identification code that allows the user’s surfing in that site to be tracked for statistical or advertising purposes. When surfing a site, the user may also receive cookies from sites or web servers other than the one it is visiting (so-called “third party” cookies) on its computer or mobile device. Some operations could not be completed without the use of cookies, which are technically necessary in some cases for the site to operate.

There are various types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and these can remain on the user’s computer or mobile device for different periods of time: so-called session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed and so-called persistent cookies which remain on the user’s equipment until a set expiry.

Based on the regulations in force in Italy, express consent of the user is not always required for the use of cookies. In particular, this consent is not required for “technical cookies”, i.e. those used solely for the transmission of a communication on an electronic communication network or when strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. In other words, it concerns cookies that are indispensable for the operation of the site or to carry out activities requested by the user.

The Italian Data Protection Authority (see Provision Individuazione delle modalità semplificate per l’informativa e l’acquisizione del consenso per l’uso dei cookie [Simplified Arrangements to Provide Information and Obtain Consent Regarding Cookies] of 8th May 2014, hereinafter “Provision” only) also includes the following amongst the technical cookies:

  • “cookie analytics” when used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself,

  • surfing or session cookies (for authentication),

  • Function cookies, which allow the user to surf according to a series of selected criteria (e.g. the language and the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered by it.

On the other hand, the prior consent of the user is required for “profiling cookies”, i.e. those aimed at creating profiles for the user and used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences shown by it when surfing the net.

The types of cookies used are:

  • Technical cookies– surfing or session – strictly necessary for the operation of the site or to allow the user to benefit from the content and services requested by it.
  • Cookie analytics, which allow the site operator to understand how it is used by the users. No information on the identity of the user or any personal data are collected with these cookies. The information is processed in an aggregate and anonymous form.

The links to the respective information notices on the use of third party cookies is listed below (as required by the Provision).

How to display and edit cookies using your own surfing program (so-called browser)
The user can select which cookies to allow using the special procedure in the Settings for cookies section, as well as permitting, blocking or deleting (in part or completely) the cookies using the specific functions of the surfing program (browser): nevertheless, if all or some of the cookies are disabled, it is possible that the site cannot be consulted or some services or certain functions of the site are not available or do not operate correctly and/or the user could be forced to edit or manually enter some information or preferences every time it visits the site.
To get further instructions on how to set your preferences on the use of cookies using your browser, the related instructions can be consulted:

Settings for cookies

The user who does not accept technical cookies is informed that this might lead to it being impossible to use the site, display its contents and benefit from its services. Prohibiting function cookies could mean that some services or certain functions of the site are not available or do not work correctly and the user could be forced to edit or manually enter information or preferences whenever it visits the site.

The non-acceptance of other cookies indicated by third parties will not affect the operation of the site; nevertheless, since these types of cookies are sent exclusively be third parties, and the site operator cannot exercise any control over these cookies being sent to the user’s terminal, any objection to them may be exercised solely by accessing the consent forms drawn up by those third parties, if present, or via the settings in your browser. The links to the privacy policies and any consent collection forms on receipt of cookies prepared by third parties are indicated above.

As regards the cookies sent directly by the site operators, the user may also block or delete (in part or completely) the cookies using the specific functions in its browser (see above in this regard) on top of using the procedure made available on this page.

The user preferences must be reset if several devices or browsers are used to access the site.
